Set on Luing, a picturesque inshore island off the West Coast of Scotland, sixteen miles South of Oban.

A light and warm bungalow cottage, built in the 1930's, formerly the teacher's home, the house has been renovated and refurbished throughout.
The cottage has a private location, set back from the island's single-track road and enjoys extensive open views across Luing to the sea and the islands of Scarba and Jura beyond. The setting is pleasantly quiet but is still within one mile of both the island's two villages.

Sleeping four, the accommodation comprises: - Entrance porch allowing storage for outdoor gear, large, airy living room with open fire, TV, video, portable CD stereo; newly fitted kitchen with modern appliances, (fridge/freezer, electric cooker and hob, washing machine & microwave oven); bathroom with integral shower.
There are two bedrooms, a large double room that also has the benefit of the views across the island, the second fitted with twin beds (bed linen and towels are not provided).

There is electric storage central heating to all main rooms; the kitchen and bathroom have wall mounted fan heaters. The main room storage heater can be turned on at any time and there are additional portable electric heaters, but it's very unlikely that you will need them.

The rear door to the house gives access to the coal storage shed. Coal and compressed peat can be bought from the shop. The shed can also be used for bike storage if required.

The cottage has a large, informal, enclosed fenced garden of about 1/3 acre. There is a brick built barbecue within the garden; again the shop sells the necessary charcoal fuel.

  • Electricity is included in the price.
  • There is off road parking space.
  • Sorry, no pets due to proximity of farming.
  • No smoking in the house please.
